The BBB's new feature The Rogues' Gallery, profiles a company each quarter with a complaint record that reflects an egregious disregard for customer satisfaction. BBB Rogues start their relationships with deceit, not trust, and the customer loses money and time and gains nothing but anger and frustration in the end. By spotlighting the Rogues, we hope to steer customers away from them and towards those businesses who value their consumers.
We've issued multiple consumer alerts over several years on both of the businesses owned by this BBB Rogue. Consumers filed 56 complaints against his Fort Knox Security Company within the last three years, while his pest control company, Turfco, has nearly triple that amount of complaints. Well, Henry H. Weaver III, who also goes by Hank Weaver, can now add BBB Rogue to his list of names.
While Mr. Weaver's companies specialize in 2 different professions, they operate under the same M.O. - billing consumers after their contract expired or after the consumer makes numerous cancellation requests.
One consumer, who signed a three-year contract with Fort Knox, called to cancel due to billing issues and inadequate customer service. "The rep advised me to write a letter and give them 30 days and the contract would be canceled," the consumer wrote. "A year and a half later, I received a bill of $356.00."
Of the 182 Turfco complaints, 157 were unresolved or unanswered, the bulk of which concerned billing or collection issues and service issues. "I have been receiving a bill from Turfco Termite & Pest Control even though I do not have an account with the company, since I stopped receiving services from Turfco about 2 years ago," one consumer stated.
Over 500 consumers pulled the BBB Reliability Report on Henry Weaver's companies in the past 12 months. When they see the F rating, we presume they went elsewhere for service.
