Scams that promise to rescue you from foreclosure are popping up at an alarming rate nationwide, and consumers need to know how to protect both themselves and their homes. The US Department of the Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of Currency has issued a consumer advisory which describes common scams, suggests ways to protect yourself, provides information on US government loan programs and counseling resources, and lists ten warning signs of a mortgage modification scam.
