March 1, 2013 - Memphis TN - The week of February 25 - March 2, 2013 was designated as Military Saves Week. Naval Support Activity Mid-South kicked off the week with a BBB presentation of a workshop entitled Tricks of the Trade: Outsmarting Investment Fraud. The program is part of a partnership between the BBB and the Financial Investment Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Investor Education Foundation.
The BBB/FINRA Smart Investing program helps consumers to better understand:
- What the face of fraud looks like.
- The risk factors that differentiate victims from other investors.
- The most common persuasion tactics used in investment fraud.
- How to protect oneself from the investment scams.
